Bye Summer

Well summer has come and gone. Fall softball, wetsuit wakeboarding, and hunting are in full swing. Cassidy was just called as eqp, so my sunday's just became a bit more hectic. Dreydn is in to EVERYTHING. I literally have to watch him every second of the day. Last Sunday, Cassidy went to the bathroom really quick, he left Dreydn in the gym because I was in there. I did not know he was in there so I wasn't watching. 2 minutes later, cassidy comes back from the bathroom and asks me "have you seen Dreyd?" we ran out the door to find him in the hall with the nursery leader. Someone had found him outside and brought him back inside. That baby is a runaway! He's ran away at home too. twice I have found him in the backyard alone. never did i have to worry about stuff like this with Bentley! he takes curiosity to the next level!

Bentley is getting smarter by the minute. All her little friends are busy starting pre-k and poor bentley is still stuck at home with mom. Preschool is so dang pricey here! So we have been working on her letters and numbers for the last 2 weeks. She's got A-L mastered! She can write her name too! Yesterday we went to Dollar Tree and she picked out some beads to make a necklace. I went to check on her as she was beading and she had picked out all of the letters to her name and strung them on the yarn. I couldn't believe it. She only had the L and the T in the wrong order. My girl is growing up too fast! She is still really in to dinosaurs, sea animals, and coloring. On sunday, while i napped, bentley filled an entire legal pad of paper with all sorts of drawings. I was amazed at how detailed her animals were!


Both kids are obsessed with "Mr Chomp"; a shark car I found at Target that sings and dances. I originally bought it for Bentley for her birthday but ended up giving it to her early. Last night we had to go back to Target and buy a 2nd Mr Chomp so Dreyd could have his own. Bentley is so excited she doesn't have to share him anymore!

Well, cheers to another day of motherhood!

Because I haven't blogged in over a year..

Wow. Its been a while! Amazing how busy life gets.

Our sweet boy, Dreydn is now 13 months. He is the same size as bentley was when she was 2. I guess you can say he is a brute! He just started walking, doesn't say much, he says cheeeeese for the camera and deeeeeees for his dog, LOVES dees, loves his sister, eats anything and everything, is the fastest crawler, loves music and dancing, loves his blanket, will not sit and watch tv, always on the move, very curious and will get into everything, likes to put toys in toilets, loves climbing up furniture, hates naps, loves the trampoline, and we have produced yet another screamer. 

Bentley is 3 and a half. She is so smart. She is the queen story teller and talks our ears off. She loves dolphins, dinosaurs, whales, dogs, kittys, playing on the ipad, jumping on the trampoline, watching her fish and crab swim in their tanks, going to petco, drawing pictures, reading books, talking on the phone, eating fruit snacks, playing with her dog, she is super obedient and will not break a rule, she loves going fishing, doing anything outside, her dad is her best friend, she doesnt eat food, she actually claims to hate eating. She is so sassy and is always right, of course. She still isn't crazy about her brother..she actually asks me on the daily if he can move back to the hospital. 

We finally made the plunge and moved out of our "little house" as bentley called it. We needed some more space and we needed a place where we wouldn't have to worry about our kids getting ran over. We moved about 4 miles north of our old house. We couldn't be happier. The "new" house was built in 1979 so we have been keeping busy with updating. The kitchen was first on our list and thankfully that is now complete! Next up, operation walk in closet in the master. 

Summer has us busy with work, softball, wakeboarding, and our yard. 1.5 acre of lawn has cassidy nice and busy. happy summer everyone!!

Bye Winter!

We are so over the winter and ready for summer! Update on life goes as follows:

Bentley lives for the 1st saturday of every month @ home depot. Its daddy daughter build something day. If you have a home depot in your town, take your kid or have your husband take your kid. it is so fun and and its free! 

We went to a scary black market sale in gj a few weeks back and came home with a bike and a toaster oven, both totaling $31. I havent been scared since living in CO until going into this warehouse sale. we will remember that 30 min for the rest of our lives. Anyways, the toaster oven works great, dont know how i have ever lived with out one, and the bike it great too.. no she doesn't ride it by herself, but she loves to sit on it and pretend. She will get it someday..

 Lots of saturdays have been spent with her horseys. she is going to be that awkward lisa frank horse girl in elementary school that everyone thought was weird.. she's a cowgirl and proud of it! 

 She does lots of coloring, play dough, gets every toy out of her room, just plain busy being 2..

 Another big deal in our house is "nastics" on wednesdays. this is bentleys hour of heaven every week. She gets so excited to go and loves accomplishing new tricks..

 last week we went on a special mommy daughter date to paint at amazing glaze. bentley will not stop talking about her dolphin that she made at "the place" she keeps saying its there getting pretty (we cant pick it up till friday)

 im trying to soak up every second i have with this girl before the baby comes because i know life will forever be different. never again will i just be bentleys mom.. ill have another little buddy right by my side. i am so excited for our little guy to be here but i know it will be a huge adjustment for bentley to have to share her mom. im sure she will be a great big sis and she asks if her brudder is coming soon almost every day. 

bentley is 2 and 3.5 months.. she has a bigger vocabulary than i do and if she doesn't know what something is, she doesn't ask, she makes up a name for it. she is our little zoologist and can tell you every animal there is, right down to a bottle nosed dolphin or a hump back whale. sea animals are her specialty, but she loves any animal. she is obsessed with watching "too cute!" on the animal channel. it shows the birth of baby kittens and puppies.. why she likes this? idk. future vet i guess. goes crazy for the gieco gecko. when i say crazy i mean crazy. check out my youtube channel if you havent seen the gecko dance in action. she loves to sing and dance and make up her own songs. she loves doing nails and any kind of craft or activity. she keeps asking to go camping to eat hot dogs and smarshmallows. lol she has been camping once in her life and it was a year ago. this child has a memory like no other. if you tell her something, be prepared for it to be repeated in a month or 2.. thomas the train is her favorite  and she wont leave the house without "meems" (her blanket) no potty training yet, she tells me, "no mom i wike diapies, im not ready for the potty" so i guess she knows best and will try on her schedule. she says the funniest things and keeps us cracking up. 

pregnancy update: im being cut open on may 17th. so about 9 weeks to go! im feeling nice and huge and ready to not be pregnant anymore. 9 weeks is feeling like an eternity away.. it kinda is. ill live, hopefully!

Summer 2012

Ive been MIA in the blog world for the last oh 4 months.. I guess thats what summer does to you! Heres a 10 min update on our lives for all those friends and fam who actually read this :)

May: Our big girl officially became a toddler. She goes to Nursery all by herself and has quite the vocabulary! We took a trip to Moab with the young single adults in our ward, which was a lot of fun. My cute sister Noelle and fam came to visit!! it was soooo fun I miss them so much! Now that i think about it, they were here in June, but you get the picture..

June: I officially quit my full time job on June 1st! I now work about 10 hours a week, give or take if I need to sub or not.. this is the best most amazing decision we have made. I honestly dont know how I juggled working 40+ hours a week, school (when I was in it), being a mom, and a wife and my calling, before now.. Its amazing how busy a stay at home mom can be! It sure does feel great to not be so stressed anymore though. To celebrate my retirement (lol) Cassidy and I went to Denver for a weekend to get away and relax. We made it to a Rockies game, which we always have fun at! 

July: I celebrated my 23rd bday! We did some camping, some dirt bikin, didnt have any fireworks because of the fire ban in CO, I went to Baton Rouge to visit Ashley!, My dad came to visit, we went to the rodeo, and so much more! 

August: We were busy with softball and recovering from the month of July.. July was seriously like a blink and it was over.. so august was pretty low key. Daddy skipped work one day and we went fishing (Bentley is in her car seat, in her life jacket, on the boat) such a safety freak..We went camping one weekend which bentley cant stop talking (and praying) about.. ("bless caaaaamping, amen") 

September: Now we are home for the summer! at least i hope..2 weeks ago, Caleb (Cassidys brother) got married in Las Vegas! Talk about a quick weekend! It was a beautiful ceremony and we are so happy for Caleb and Shelby! We took Bentley to the shark reef, which she LOVED. Then last weekend was the montrose reception which we were busy prepping for. Then of course since family was in town, we had to do something fun aka go jeeping! which resulted in a blown up tire.. we wont go there..

Our girl is growing up SO fast its hard to believe.. She will be 2 in 2 short months.. She is such a sass and her little personality is just hilarious. Shes such a sponge, anything you say, will be repeated. She tells me what she needs now and I can have a full on convo with this chick. She insists on picking out her own outfits everyday. She wears the same 3 shirts over and over and over.. She is obsessed with "sharkies" shark week is now her favorite time of year. She loves her "cart" (her mini stroller) and her rubber "nake" (snake) which got taken away in Nursery last Sunday for scaring other kids..She thinks every color is piiiiink, and she loves putting on "erfume" (perfume) every morning. She is such a girl but such a tomboy all at the same time. She has someone in her life named NINA? we have no idea who she is, i think it may be her 1st imaginary friend. Her best friend is "deesy" her dog.. she loves going to target and shopping for new things. "buy me sumting" is all i hear while she sits in the cart.. She HAS to wipe the cart with a clorox wipe at stores, or she throws a fit. She def has hit terrible 2s. DRAMA is her middle name. she doesnt just say no, everything is "no way" or "no way dude" favorite food is "mamamellows" (marshmallows) and "sa sa" applesauce in a tube that she squeezes out. Bentley says the prayer every night and at every meal.. "Father, bless food, bless dees, family, camping, jesus, amen".. And the most spiritual part of bentley is at church before the sacrament comes she YELLS "HERE IT COMES BREAD!!" or "HERE COME THE WA WA!!" She is such a hoot and we are having too much fun with our little miss b!

 On Saturday we went to the russell stover egg hunt at a local park. It lasted about 30 seconds since there were 2.5 million kids there.. but bentley had fun

15 & 16

We have been so busy, 15 & 16 month marks have flown on by..

 went swimming for the 1st time while we were on a weekend trip to denver.. she was scared and just wanted daddy to hold her. is she really my child? scared of the water?

 we went to the zoo! that was the purpose of the trip. bentley is in such an animal lover stage. she had a blast (and so did we) fishies were her favorite for sure..

 she was a little scared with this thing.. im not even sure what it is? a baby dinosaur or something..

 she loved sitting in front of each exhibit.. and walking ALL DAY. she is such a busy body right now..

 back at home, bentleys new favorite thing to do is sit in her car and watch tv..

Its so hard to keep up and watch my baby turn into a real kid. when people say "they grow up too fast" its really true!! i cant believe how much my girl changes everyday! she no longer walks, she runs, everywhere. she loves to color with crayons. she has 2 molars now but still eats everything with her 8 little front teeth like a little chipmonk. she loves her daddy so much. shes such a talker.. she trys to say anything u ask her to say its hilarious. she says "amen" when she wants the prayer to be over (she usually says it a good 3 times before the prayer is actually over) she is my super helper, she does her chores everyday.. she feeds diesel and her pet fish rusty. she sweeps the floor (she has her own baby size broom & dust pan) she dusts anything and she loves spraying frebreeze! she is a crack up. she points out most of her body parts and is learning new words everyday. i think she speaks more spanish than english. whatever works! she loves MELMO (elmo) and dances realllllly hard when his song comes on. she is a major brat and is not happy when she doesnt get her way. she loves bubbles and feeding the ga ga's (ducks) shes a handful but sure does keep us laughing!! update on us: maxx is no longer a member of our family.. i decided i liked my new carpet more than i liked him. note to self: NEVER EVER EVER will i get a non potty trained puppy again! I am slowly starting to work less.. i now have tuesdays off which is amaayzing. i have a day with just me and my girl! we are busy with church callings and dirt biking any time we have a spare hour or so.. we cant wait for softball season to get here and summer to be in full swing!!
